Dear Friends and Loyal Supporters,
We hope that during this unprecedented time of upheaval you are able to call upon your inner strength and direct it outward as compassion for yourself, your loved ones and our entire global community. We are each endeavoring to spread love and hold space for those who are suffering most as well as the healthcare workers on the front lines.
Reflecting back on the last 12 months, we are filled with immense gratitude. During the 2019 calendar year, a total of 333 new books were put into the hands of children in the Rogue Valley, many of whom likely have very few books at home. It is your financial support and community volunteerism that has enabled us to maintain and grow our programs.
Recent noteworthy highlights were our visits to donate books to Maslow Project (services for homeless youth) and Oasis Center of the Rogue Valley (health care and social support for families in recovery); we look forward to continuing to contribute to their “community library shelves“ which provide books to families and children who have very little access otherwise.
In addition to ongoing individual donations, we have received overwhelming support via our AmazonSmile fundraising campaign, which contributes a portion of your Amazon purchases to the foundation. Another way you can contribute to our success is to join the Fred Meyer Community Rewards Program. You simply link your customer rewards account to our organization and then a small portion of your purchases will be donated to us.
New: Expansion of Storytime Outreach Program
This year our goal is to double the number of books gifted to local children in need. We are continuing to grow our Storytime program at Head Start centers and will also be working with The Family Nurturing Center to set up a program at their location in Medford. New: Additional Board Member Welcomed
We are thrilled to announce that we recently welcomed a new board member to our team. Please join us in celebrating the addition of the wonderfully kind and generous Ken Hart to our existing board of directors. Ken has been an advocate for our mission and a financial supporter for the last 4 years. We look forward to seeing how his passion and ideas will strengthen and further the impact of our organization.
